Modern life is complex. We are halfway between so many disparate extremes, split between cities, memories, and generations. We are an amalgam of cultures, our identities fixed yet infinitely fluid. How do we feel most at home? When are we our most enlivened selves? Choreographer Ephrat Asherie collaborates with Grammy award-winning jazz musician and composer Arturo O’Farrill to address these questions in the company’s newest creation, Shadow Cities. Bringing together EAD’s exhilarating choreography that remixes various street and club dance styles and an original composition featuring O’Farrill’s trademark sound, Shadow Cities explores what it means to be and to feel in-between.
